The Player:
London, ENGLAND.
Branding of The Player, an exclusive cocktail bar in London that was a 60’s inspired homage to smoky jazzy basement bars and airport lounges.
In the halcyon days when Dick Bradsell was at the helm, The Player really was the place to be.
Situated at 8-12 Broadwick Street, in the heart of London’s Soho district, Iit was here that the highly regarded cocktail maestro conjured up sublime creations that had the style cognoscenti queuing around the block!
The iconic monogram P was integrated into a sumptuous carpet, and the bar paraphernalia; book matches (remember them!), menus etc all took their style cues from the Italian tiles underfoot that resembled petrified wood.
It may or may not have been the venue where the Espresso Martini was born. According to legend, Naomi Campbell asked Dick Bradsell for a cocktail that would “wake me up and **** me up”.
